Pages will not open

Work through "other sites → switch engine → clear cache → check network" and you will find the cause within minutes.

A page that will not open usually falls into three buckets: the site, the browser or the network. Ruling them out in order is far more effective than reloading repeatedly.

Determine the scope first

Try two completely different sites. If neither opens, it is the network or the browser; if only one fails, it is usually that site or the engine.

  • All sites fail: check network connection and proxy
  • One site fails: switch engine or check the site status
  • Some sites fail: DNS or regional restrictions
  • Works on phone but not PC: check PC DNS and hosts

Browser-side checks

In order: switch engine, try an incognito window, clear that site cache and cookies, then disable extensions temporarily.

  • Switch between fast and compatibility engine
  • Use incognito to rule out extensions and cache
  • Clear cache and cookies for that site
  • Disable all extensions and retry

Network-side checks

Review system proxy and VPN settings, change DNS, and confirm the system clock is correct — a wrong clock breaks certificate validation.

  • Turn off or review proxy and VPN
  • Switch to a public DNS
  • Verify system date and time
  • Use ping and nslookup to test resolution

FAQ

There is a certificate warning — can I continue?

For intranet sites with self-signed certificates you may continue manually, but do not proceed on public sites: it may indicate a man-in-the-middle.

Why does it open on my phone but not my PC?

Usually DNS cache, the hosts file or proxy settings on the PC; some sites also restrict desktop user agents, which switching engines often fixes.

Switch to a faster browser

Dual engine for old sites, ad blocking and privacy protection built in — ready to use right after install.
